Northern California raptor ID help (1 Viewer)

I took these photos of this raptor that was posing very cooperatively on the levee along the San Lorenzo River in Santa Cruz California where I went for a walk in the late afternoon of January 10, 2022 after the rains from earlier in the day finally stopped. I'm guessing a Sharp-shinned or a Cooper's Hawk (can't see the tail well enough to distinguish), but I'm not sure. I'd be grateful for any identification help.
