if the Opticron Natura ED is 100% made in Japan then why does mine say made in China??

How old is yours ? Maybe the latest models are MIJ and previous MIC ... just a guess there.
You could try contacting Opticron and see what they say.
 
If you are unhappy, I would suggest contacting Opticron direct.
They haven’t hidden that "made in China" label, to be fair
 
Natura BGA ED first arrived as a made in China product in September 2016. Production was moved from China to Japan during 2018 so products purchased around that time may well have been made in China.
