Orchids of Samos (1 Viewer)

While people are waiting for the UK orchid season to get underway, perhaps they might enjoy reading about my recent trip to the Greek island of Samos, where I saw and photographed 27 different orchids (as well as over 20 butterfly species). By contrast with the UK, the Greek season appears to have started rather early due to a warm and wet winter.

Species include such gems as Ophrys leochroma, Ophrys mammosa, Ophrys herae, Ophrys regis-ferdinandii, as well as a good number of Orchis and Serapias. A picture below to whet your appetites... |8)|
