Hi all,

I saw this bird this morning around 9am in low light in a wetlands area near the coast in Sardinia.

My first impression was that it was a smallish, slender wader, with pale underparts, light grey streaking on the head and neck and a darker grey back. From the narrow, shortish bill my first thought was maybe a Marsh Sandpiper, but I am far from sure.

I unfortunately was only able to take the attached very poor photos, which I have cropped so that the image is larger, but I have not otherwise adjusted the photos.

Any help appreciated!

Many thanks,

Matthew
