Parque Nacional Manuel Antonio VS. Carara National Park (2 Viewers)

Hello. I am staying in the central south Pacific coast near Quepos/Manuel Antonio for 8 days. I was wondering if there is a big difference between Carara and Manuel Antonio in terms of the usual bird species you might see. I would like to get as many birds as I can, but was thinking of booking a tour in the mountains to get the specialties that dwell there. I know there are many hotspots in C.R., but time is limited. I'm also traveling with my wife and 7 year old. Would I be really missing out if I skipped Carara National Park?

Any advice would be greatly appreciate.

Please and thanks
