The three attached images are for a small Shorebird seen today in Barbados. Remember that Eurasian species are also possible here.
The reason I am unsure about this is that among the regular species seen here it would be an extreme longbilled Western Sandpiper. It it really something else and locally rarer, such as Dunlin?
The sun was behind the bird so light was extremely tough. I have lightened all three to show a little detail.
thanks
Niels
PS: I should add it was a very active feeder, putting most of its bill into the water and keeping it there for long periods of probing up and down. As an idea I forgot until just now (past bedtime): is this a Stilt Sandpiper?
