Eye cups are essentially the same in all brands.

I've always found that one of the biggesst differences between the brands. Unless you're just talking about the basic mechanical design.

I like the cups on my Pentax 9x28, underrated little marvel that it is.
 
My pair was one of the first models with the pop up eyecups. Inevitably, when in a hurry to get on a bird, one or both cups would be either partially or completely down. I solved the problem with faucet repair O rings.
 
There are worse and better eye cup designs, but there is not a whole lot of difference until you get to the alphas. My Zeiss had eye cups built like a tank and they came in and out perfectly, but were uncomfortable.
