Hello Peter,
interesting bird, thanks for sharing.
Juvenile PH from Germany are browner with paler rusty hued edges (rarely paler, but far away from this colourless edges, a pale smokey-white) So is your bird within variation. I just wanted to write yes, but I got the feeling, that I dont have enough experience (although seeing many of them in Europe) to write this.
Same with the black cap. Is this to extensive for a juvenile bird? No, its within variation. Club300 Germany (Schwetzinger Wiesen, SW-Germany).
Normally first summer birds have worn wing-coverts, but according to http://blascozumeta.com/wp-content/...n-passeriformes/044.purpleheron-apurpurea.pdf somew wing coverts are moulted, but this bird seems to have to much moulted. BUT: I dont have enough experience?
And I get the feeling, that the greater coverts are slightly to worn for a 1 cy bird.

But wait: are there two worn juvenile coverts visible among older ones? Then its a 2 cy bird.
Or do juvenile birds from outside areas have different coloured wing-coverts with paler, colourless edges? Experts, please help!
Please note, that older PH (3 cy) can sometimes still identified against adult birds by a mix immature-coloured coverts and head-pattern.
