Great video Etu'. Text states featured bird is a female Harris hawk. Back in my younger (single, not so happy days:t:) did fair amount of fixed wing soaring. Have had red-tail hawks approach at extremely close distance. While we both occupied same thermal, tried to gain a little altitude. Cant put it into words, something spiritual about it.

That particular location is unique. Prevailing winds coming off of pacific form a standing wave of air at landmass. Called ridge lift. Hawks, many other birds and people too can remain airborne almost indefinitely, with very little physical output required. Something special indeed.
