Recommended camera for HAWKE ENDURANCE ED 85mm (1 Viewer)

Hi, I currently digiscope using my Google pix phone with a Hawke endurance 85mm scope with zoom lens. I watch and photograph gulls at some distance and it's only good enough for record shots really. Ring codes are usually blurred at this distance. I would like to give a camera a try. I don't want to spend too much initially. I currently have a Panasonic DMC-FZ72 but it is a zoom lens and I don't believe this camera is compatible. Can anyone please recommend a decent and reasonably priced camera that I could please try? I'd be happy to buy second hand. Any advice welcome. Thank you.
