Sandwell Valley (3 Viewers)

We finished the month on 83 species with Water Pipit being the only addition to the year list, main highlights being Whooper Swan, Pintail x3 and Little Egret, we had some good counts for the month with Snipe x39, Goosander x71, Teal x44, Ring Necked Parakeet x30 Coot x290, Water Rail x9, Starling x500, Jackdaw x500 and Redwing x200 we also had Common Gull, several Woodcock and a Redshank. There were a few that got away we had a report of two Red Breasted Mergansers, a possible Waxing heard over Park Farm, a report of several birds near the rspb and a report or several birds in Dagger Lane, a possible Golden Plover over the rspb and a possible Caspian Gull was seen.

Feeding Station
Amongst the regulars today were Fieldfare x4, Redwing x4, Song Thrush x2, Mistle Thrush and Willow Tit per Pete Carless

Quick walk round Forge Mill and Swan Pool this afternoon

Forge Mill - 1 Greylag, Male Pintail, a few Pochard, Shoveler, Teal and Gadwall but numbers all pretty low. At least 10 goosander, GS Woodpecker, Kingfisher, Snipe x3, no sign of any Lapwing, Grey Wagtail, RN Parakeet, Redwing, Sparrowhawk

Swan Pool - Wigeon, Little Grebe x2 , Mistle Thrush x3, Rook, Siskin x1, Song Thrush, Starling x1
 
Forge Mill
Coot 90-100, Tufted Duck x135 ( forge mill/ swan pool )Goosander x15 and Pintail pair still present per Rspb
