An 8 hour stint in the valley today produced 58 species, highlights were 4 Juvenile Water Rails in marsh, 3 Little Grebes, Common Sandpiper, a migrant juvenile LR Plover and juvenile Common Tern on forge mill in addition to the local birds, also witnessed our young terns leave the raft and half fly/swim onto nearby island. Also Marbled White butterfly between centre and hide. In addition 2 juvenile Little Grebes on dartmouth park lake. Also saw a hairstreak butterfly species briefly by the 2nd footbridge over motorway towards salters lane/dartmouth park, on views I would have said Purple but I don't know if these occur in the valley
