Shorebird ID without photo (Switzerland) (1 Viewer)

Hello. I saw a flying shorebird today on a lake in Zurich, but I couldn't get to take a picture. I guess it would be impossible to ID without photo, but any suggestion will be appreciated :)

  • smaller than eurasian coot
  • dark wings and white wing-bar
  • one wingbeat and glide forward, then beat again and glide
  • 1.5 wingbeat in one second
  • flight path wasn't undulating
  • call sounded like "pee-pip... pee-pip..."

Does Common sandpiper match this description? How about juvenile Red phalarope?
