Sigma 100-1000? (1 Viewer)

Hi, does anyone have experience of the Sigma 50-500 on a 4/3 camera. I'm just a bit concerned that at 1000mm the built in IS system (Olympus E510) will not be able to manage hand held shots with any reliability. I don't want to fork out £800ish and find I cant use this hand held without some success. Is the 135-400 (giving 270-800mm) a safer bet as well as being half the price!

Hi Pete,
I think handholding any 1000mm lens would be a struggle? or are the IS lenses really that good? if so i want one
Cannot fault the Bigma but its very hard to use handheld at 500mm end so hate to think what it would be like double.
Cheers
Brian
