SW Ontario - late night bird call ID (1 Viewer)

I live in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, at the western end of Lake Ontario. I was out for a walk around 12:30 AM, and I kept hearing this bird. It sounds really familiar - but it's not something I'd expect to hear late at night. I think I've heard it in meadows in the daytime? The clip is very short and very faint - might need headphones to hear it well. - but I think it should be a pretty easy, common bird to ID. Sounds a bit like a kildeer. Thx!
