Just recently I seem to of developed an interest in Swifts, and apart from watching their aerial displays at my local reservoir, I have also found a swift webcam at the Natural History Museum at Oxford University, there is not much happening at the moment apart from a bird sitting on three eggs, but this link http://www.oum.ox.ac.uk/swifts.htm, gives an overview of a Project to study this species and was started in 1948 !
Having noticed reasonable numbers in our local town and seen several birds entering nest sites, I may contact our town Planning commitee, as I know there are forthcoming plans to upgrade the town center,...maybe a good opportunity to build some artificial nest sites, has anyone any experience of similar projects ?o:)
