Unknown bird, Erquy (near Cap Frehel), Britany, France (1 Viewer)

Hello everyone,

Can anyone identify the the bird below? The photo was taken in August near the "Cap Frehel", in Brittany, France.

Initially I thought it was a cormorant (which are common in this region), but I am not so sure ; it certainly doesn't look like the cormorants I am used to see.

This bird was on the beach flapping its wings and making some small jumps away from the sea. He didn't mind my presence and actually approached me (I wonder if he was weak or hurt ?)
