Merlin doesn't help

Probably because, in this slightly-odd view, AI can't even tell that there's a bird there. Not that it 'knows' that things are birds or beetles or fungi at all anyway: rather, it just mindlessly looks for similarities in shape, colour, pattern, etc, with things it's been shown before.
