Unusual songbird in Baja California (1 Viewer)

This looks a bit like an oriole but has me puzzled! It was filmed in Baja California. Would it be some sort of avicultural exotic? Any suggestions?

Certainly one of the New World orioles; not sure which, but remember young males can look quite different to the adult males you mainly see illustrated in field guides.

The black crown is the puzzle. If you look at Hooded Oriole it fits well for young male but the black is usually restricted to the throat and around the eyes.
 
Tough one. Contra Bullock's, there's no eye line. Contra hooded, it has a dark cap. Scott's seems to be in the lead...
