I wonder who was buying the dead birds and their reasons. Surely can't be part of the far Eastern 'medicine' market. Is it still the case that native Americans can take the odd eagle for ceremonial reasons, if so what are the rules?

Funnily enough the possession of any bird feather is illegal in the USA, unless one is a member of the first nations.
