Nice article with photos. Personally, I would not trust a single quick disconnect buckle with my rig. I've accidentally popped those types of buckles before. I would either use OP/TECH USA Secure-Its or replace that buckle with a carabiner with screw lock. The Black Rapids straps come with a more secure d-ring system.
