I found this wasp floating in my son's paddling pool the other day. I'm struggling to ID it. I think it's a wasp...

Here it is on a rubber duck.

Any idea's?

Hello! I know nothing about wasps but will post so others can see in the new post section. Sorry this thread was lost but hopefully someone will help soon
 
Not sure it is a wasp, it could be a winged ant, possibly a female from its nuptial flight, that landed wrong.
They lose their wings after landing and settle in to start a new colony.

It doesn't look like an ant to me. I'd agree with the OP it's a type of wasp, but that's as far as I can go.
