In the Summertime
Oh, if only that was an option. I didn't exactly leap out of bed but the alarm clock must be obeyed if I want to keep my job. After all, if I don't win the bins I may need to buy some to satisfy my craving.
I envy you, mathare! If I only had to work for bins, I'd just leave it and look through my fingers!
Well, here's something that will hopefully help to cheer up all semi-enslaved birders ...
In the summertime
In the summertime,
when the weather is high,
you can stretch right up
and touch the sky.
When the weather's fine,
you got birding, you got birding on your mind.
Ride a bus, take a hike,
go out and see the birds you like.
If your daddy is rich,
get Nikon's
EDG,
if your daddy is poor,
hope for Zen Ray's
HD.
Creep along the trails,
but be slow or you'll never see those quails.
When the sun goes down,
you'll know what kind of bins you really own.
We're not petty people,
we're not greedy, we're not mean,
we love all the birds,
but not every trashy bin.
When the weather's fine,
we got birding, we got birding
on our minds.
We're always seeking
for the better,
that is our philosophy.
Sing along with us,
dee dee dee dee dee,
da da da da da,
we're never free:
I want a better
be-be-be-be-be-be-
bin for me!
Da da da da da,
and I do do do do do
want it for free!
When the winter's here,
it's still birding time:
Get your rubber boots,
trudge along in the slime,
do some birding
with your trashy bins
or with your brand new pair of Prime.
If they're crisp, if they're bright,
bring your friends
and see them suffer envy's bite!

And here's the tune (ignore the lyrics, they are quite wrong ...):
