I did put this picture as the bottom of the previous thread, but they kinda get lost further down so thought I'd give it its own space.

Also from Bridlington harbour on Sunday

• Barred undertail rather than streaks
• has a belly centric shape
• broad looking wings
• cool colour to most plumage
• more than 2 white shafted primaries

Have I got a pomarine here?

Looks more like Arctic to me. Proportions, amount of white in wing, bill size

Impossible to be sure tbh. It looks chunky but you cant appraise structure which is key.

Ahh fair enough, slightly back to the ID learning drawing board - I thought the tail barring ruled out arctic! I will get there in the end haha
