You know Spring is coming in the UK when……….. (1 Viewer)

When... the first wasps appear, and explore all the holes in the old stone wall of the house, to build a nest there !!!!!! 😡

First bees middle of last week and a mozzie type insect looking for a feed. Had a few Song Thrushes in full song as well which I always enjoy.

Spring starts a bit later here than down south (I think I read somewhere that there's something like a two week delay between key spring events in the south and in the far north of the country).

But for me it's seeing the first flowering daffodils (yesterday for me).

I think it's generally a good two or three weeks. When I lived in Mid-Wales it was almost two weeks later than in Kent, so further up the UK is probably later too. The first Daffodils down here opened over a month back - they do stagger a bit though so they're probably at their peak now (was well into March in my long ago youth...).

For me it’s seeing the first Snowdrops I have some in my garden. But usually folk say when they see their first Swallow of the year that's the start of Spring .
