26 cm (10¼ in)
- Yellow crown
- Black bill
- Green over-all plumage
- Black, blue and red head markings
- Black lores
- Black eyestripe
Distribution
Indonesia: found in the lowlands of Java and Bali.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Sometimes placed in the genus Megalaima.
Habitat
Open wooded areas and hill forests. May be found at heights up to 1,500 m.
Behaviour
Diet
There is not much information recorded, but they are thought to eat both figs and insects.
