Identification
10cm. Olive-green upperparts, greyish white underparts, streaked on the breast, short tail, short thick curved bill and tubular tongue. The sexes are alike.
Distribution
Southern Asia from India east to Indonesia and Timor.
Taxonomy
The three subspecies from the Philippines (affine, striatissimum and aeruginosum) are sometimes split as Striped Flowerpecker, Dicaeum aeruginosum.
Habitat
Forests, other well-wooded habitats and cultivation.
Behaviour
It builds a purse-like nest suspended from a tree. 2-4 eggs are laid.
The diet includes nectar, berries, spiders and insects.
