Cracticus mentalis

Identification

Adult shows intricate patterns of black and white with entirely white underside; black replaced by brown in juvenile.

Distribution

New Guinea and Queensland, Australia

Taxonomy

This species has two subspecies:

  • C. m. mentalis:
  • Savanna of south-eastern New Guinea (Merauke to Port Moresby)
  • C. m. kempi:
