Distribution

Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, Sudan and Tanzania.

Taxonomy

Estrilda charmosyna has two subspecies:

  • E. c. charmosyna
  • E. c. kiwanukae

Habitat

Dry thorn scrub, usually on the ground in cover.
