Identification

- Black forehead, face and throat
- Orange bill
- Brownish-grey upperparts
- White underparts
Distribution
South America: found from the campos of eastern Bolivia to north-eastern Paraguay and interior north-eastern and central Brazil.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
This species has been placed in genus Saltator in the past.
Habitat
Dry forests and savanna (Cerrado), generally between 500–1300 m.
Behaviour
Diet
Their diet consists mostly of seeds and flower buds, with the addition of fruit and some invertebrates.
