Identification
13·5–14·5 cm
Male
- Black to dark grey
- White interscapular patch
- Grey-edged flight feathers
Distribution
South America: found from southern Colombia, east of the Andes to north-western Bolivia and south-western Amazonian Brazil
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Subspecies hypomelaena is not recognised by all authorities[2]
Formerly placed in genus Cercomacra.
Habitat
Humid evergreen forest borders.
Behaviour
Diet
Their diet is not well known, but appears to consist of a variety of insects and spiders.
