Distribution

South America: found from southern Colombia, east of the Andes to north-western Bolivia and south-western Amazonian Brazil

Taxonomy

Monotypic[1]

An additional subspecies hypomelaena is not recognised by all authorities[2]

Habitat

Moist lowland forests.
