Identification

33cm. Dark blue, white speckled head, back and upper belly, dark iris and legs.

Distribution

Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkmenistan, and Vietnam.

Taxonomy

There are 6 subspecies.

Habitat

Temperate forests and moist montanes.
