Identification
11–12·6 cm (4¼-5 in)
- Bronze green upperparts
- Brown underparts
- Broad white tips to tail feathers
- Decurved bill
Distribution
Endemic to the lowlands of north-east Brazil (Piauí, Ceará and Bahia).
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1], which in the past has been placed in genus Phaethornis.
Habitat
Woodland and semi-deciduous forest, 500m-700m.
Behaviour
Diet
Their main diet consists of nectar and arthropods.
Breeding
Cobweb is used for the building of the nest.
