Description

Race burmanica.

Identification

Taxonomy

Two subspecies are sometimes considered full species, Northern Boobook (Ninox japonicus with subspecies totogo) and Chocolate Boobook (Ninox randi). Even after that, Brown Hawk-Owl retains eight subspecies.
