Phrygilus carbonarius

Identification

Length 14cm. Male has dark, mottled body, black in front and dark gray on back. Female is light brown to buff, with fine streaking overall. Both have dark eye and yellow/orange bill.

Distribution

Argentina.

Taxonomy

This species is monotypic.[1]

Habitat

Dry shrubland and temperate grassland.
