Africa
Eastern Africa: Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi and Mozambique.
Southern Africa: found only in Zimbabwe.

This is one of the many Sunbirds that have recently been moved to the genus Cinnyris from the genus Nectarinia.

Subspecies

Two subspecies are recognized[1].

  • C. m. manoensis:
  • C. m. amicorum:
  • Mozambique (Mount Gorongoza)

Eastern Miombo Sunbird and Western Miombo Sunbird have until recently been considered one species, Miombo Double-collared Sunbird.

Habitat

Miombo woodland, gardens and edges of montane forest.
