Identification

The two subspecies differ in bill color.

Distribution

Endemic to Fiji in the Pacific Ocean1.

Taxonomy

Clements1 accepts two subspecies:

  • G. v. viridis on Taveuni and Vanua Levu (yellow-billed)
  • G. v. brunneirostris on Viti Levu (brown-billed)

Among birders, talk want these two to be split into two species; no studies have been published.
