Identification

Distribution

South America: found in the Andes of western Bolivia (La Paz to Chuquisaca) and adjacent parts of north-western Argentina.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].

Habitat

Dry montane scrubby areas around the tree-line.

Behaviour

Their diet consists of nectar and insects.
