Identification
38–50 cm
Distribution
South America: breeds from north-east Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana and Suriname to eastern Ecuador and Peru, most of Brazil and in Bolivia, Paraguay and north-east Argentina.
Resident.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Tropical rain forest up to about 400m.
Behaviour
Diet
There is very little information available, but they are thought to eat larger prey items such as birds.
