Distribution
Northern Moluccas (Halmahera, Ternate and Bacan), Indonesia.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species.
It was formerly included in Moluccan Hawk-Owl, together with several other species.
Habitat
They favour tropical lowland forests, tall secondary forests at heights from sea-level to around 1200 m.
Behaviour
Diet
There is little information available but it is thought they eat insects.
Breeding
There is no information.
