Identification

Long spiky erectile crest, grey, white belly. The sexes are similar.

Distribution

Western India

Taxonomy

Habitat

Open country, cultivation and scrub.

Behaviour

It nests on the ground, laying 2-3 eggs.

Diet includes seeds and insects.
