Vasconcellea pubescens
Identification
The Mountain Papaya of is a small tree of about 10 meters (33 ft) tall that grows in semi-cultivated areas. The fruit is about 6–15 cm long and 3–8 cm broad, and is green, maturing yellow and orange.
Distribution
Andes of northwestern South America, Columbia, Brazil, Panama, Bolivia and central Chile.

Habitat
The Papaya tree is native to the tropics of the Americas, from southern Mexico and Central America.
