Identification

Orange belly, green back, blue tail and flight feathers, black and blue patch over throat and chest. It has a long, curved beak.

Distribution

Eastern Himalayas and south China to the Malay Peninsula.

Taxonomy

Behaviour

Its diet includes insects, spiders and nectar.

They make their nests from roots and fibres which are suspended from the edges of twigs at the end of a tree branch.
