Identification
13cm. Male has nondescript female–like plumage of other sunbird species but has relatively straight bill, dark iridescent blue-green forehead patch and dull greyish olive underparts. Female resembles male but lacks the forehead patch and can also be separated from other female sunbirds by lack of yellow on underparts.
Distribution
Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, and Thailand.

Habitat
Subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and subtropical or tropical mangrove forests.
Behaviour
Frequents the middle storey.
