Identification

  • Mainly black plumage
  • White crissum and undertail coverts
  • Black crest
  • Red knob on the bill

Female

  • Dark bill
  • Chestnut crissum and undertail coverts

Distribution

South America: found only in the lowland forests of south-eastern Brazil (on the verge of extinction)
