Vireo olivaceus

Identification

14-17 cm. Sparrow-sized. Olive green above, whitish below, with a narrow white eyebrow bordered above with black. Grey crown; red eye (eye dark in immature).

Distribution

Twelve different subspecies of this bird are distributed from Canada to Brazil and Argentina; only occurs in the Caribbean as a non-breeding migrant.

Taxonomy

Chivi Vireo (Vireo (o.) chivi, etc.) found in Tobago and South America is sometimes suspected of being a separate species.

Habitat

Deciduous woods.
