Description

Rufous-bellied kookaburra ( dacelo gaudichaud ) Measuring about 28 cm, the difference between the sexes the male has a blue tail-feathers while the female�s are brownish. Lives on the lower forest canopy and feeds on insects and vertebrates. Nests in termitaria. Very common on the island of Yapen in the Geelvink bay, also found in all New Guinea, Aru and the West Papuan islands.
