Distribution
South America: Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina.
Taxonomy
Subspecies
There are 2 subspecies[1]:
- S. s. cearensis:
- North East Brazil (Ceará and northern Bahia)
- S. s. scansor:
Habitat
Tropical lowland and montain evergreen forests and adjoining secondary growth.
Behaviour
Diet
Their diet consists of invertebrates, such as spiders and beetles found in the leaf litter.
Breeding
They re thought to be a monogamous species. Their nest is a hole in the ground.
