Drymophila squamata

Identification

Black upperparts with white spots and a white supercilium. Two white wing-bars and the tail is barred white. White underparts with bold black spots. The female is similar but the black is replaced by brown and the white by buff.

Distribution

Brazil.

Subspecies

There are 2 subspecies[1]:

  • D. s. squamata:
  • East Brazil (eastern Alagoas and eastern Bahia)
  • D. s. stictocorypha:
  • South East Brazil (eastern Minas Gerais to north-eastern Santa Catarina)

Habitat

Moist lowland forests.
